An excuse to meet...

I was drifting through Central Saint Martins on the way down to Global Generation and saw William sitting in a beautiful pool of light, taking a break and reading his paper.

I photographed the scene from a distance and then went to say hello.  He was slightly sceptical. I guess I looked liked some kind of techno-gypsy, cameras, rucksack, tripod over my shoulder...

But I feel like my cameras  give  license. An excuse to meet, to say hello and talk... 

I really appreciated our brief conversation and made this image of William.  I sent it to him and he said that he loved it, that it was 'genius'.  I'm not sure about that but I do know that even brief moments of connection are special.
